sooooo....finished up with my first week of my pseudo-diet and i gotta say so far so good. and i truly hate to call it a diet because i despise that word. truly i do. i'm just eating better and watching my caloric intake - trying to keep it around 1200-1500 per day...on the lower end when i'm not running or playing soccer that day. this past weekend, i shot right past that guideline on 2 occasions because of the wildflower festival and the junk food and then lovely beer intake on saturday night. ah well...regardless every other day has been great and i've been doing well. i'll be honest the first few days were very hard only because of the hunger pains i was going through. it's amazing how much a simple change as bettering your eating habits can instantly make you feel better. it's getting much easier and i'm pretty sure that once i go for another couple of weeks, i will be well over the hump and losing weight.
the lovely mama, tiffany, recommended sparkpeople.com and i gotta tell you i love it! it's free and it tracks everything you eat online and you can print out reports to have something material to hold onto.
so one week down and 33 more weeks to go! (i sound like i'm estimating my gestation period - nice)
all in all life is grand at the moment. things are still going well with horizon, my amazing significant other who i am absolutely crazy about.
other than that, work is slow this week in preparation for the 3 day weekend that lies ahead and i for one, will not be complaining. maybe i will actually have a weekend of not taking any work home. whew!
saturday i have a soccer tournament scheduled (which in seeing the weather for the next few days now, i'm skeptical if it will take place). 3 full soccer games in one day. what was i thinking? do i have a death wish? needless to say, i may be blogging from the hospital next time you hear from me.
