Cherokee Prayer

this prayer was given to me by my father and has been framed on my nightstand since i was 18. i recite it today.

O' GREAT SPIRIT

help me always
to speak the truth quietly,
to listen with an open mind
when others speak,
and to remember the peace
that may be found in silence.

Nice . . .

I'm 3/4 Puerto Rican and 1/4 Irish, biologically . . . adopted by a first generation Cuban American and a first generation Puerto Rican American . . . a human mutt, full of good genetic diversity am I . . .

The Native American thing, though . . . the indigenous Earth person thing . . . speaks to me deeply . . . always has . . .

Also dig the call to silence . . . the holy men and women of all traditions, calling us to meditation . . .

Good stuff . . .
